Charlottesville Transit Development Plan, 2006-2011 (.pdf)
This report was completed in August 2006 as a guide for expansion of transit service in Charlottesville and Albemarle. It outlines priority route expansions and schedule changes.

A Transit Future for Charlottesville (.pdf)
This presentation is by Dr. Peter Newman, an international transit guru and Director of the Institute for Sustainability and Technology Policy in Perth, AU. Dr. Newman is a Fulbright scholar with UVA, and gave this presentation in Charlottesville in December. He uses examples from around the world to make a case for transit in Charlottesville.

Another great resource by Paul Weyrich and William Lund. Get tips for convincing your most challenging opponents to vote "Yes" for transit.

The Virginia Greenways and Trails Toolbox
This is a how-to guide for the organization, planning, and development of local greenway and trails programs.

Bike/Ped

The City of Charlottesville Bicycle & Pedestrian Facilities Master Plan
This plan was adopted in May of 2002. It shows maps of each neighborhood in the City with existing and proposed bike lanes, trails, sidewalks, bridges, underpasses, and other amenities.

Jefferson Area Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Greenways Plan
This plan was adopted by the Metropolitan Planning Organization in 2001, and it is the functional bike/ped plan for Albemarle County.

Charlottesville Bicycle Survey
Read research done in 2001 to measure the number and needs of cyclists in the Charlottesville area.

Promoting Active Living Communities
This Guide to marketing and communication was put out by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundatation, and give numberous case studies of communities that have conducted social marketing campaigns designed to encourage physical activity. Available for review in the ACCT office.

Highway Design Handbook for Older Drivers and Pedestrians
Published by the Federal Highway Administration, this reference examines design of roadways that are accesible to seniors. Available for review in the ACCT office.

The TIP is the funding document for all local transportation projects.

City of Charlottesville Parking Master Plan
This is a comprehensive survey of parking in Charlottesville in 2000 with some recomendations about future needs.
