Dear Friends,

Since our founding in 2001, The Alliance for Community Choice in Transportation has endeavored to bring together a network of citizens and groups dedicated to promoting balanced transportation options, sustainable land use, and transit-oriented development in the greater Charlottesville area.

We believe that citizens need to have a strong role in the creation of a transportation system that integrates a variety of alternative transportation options, makes our community a wonderful place to live, preserves the environment, and promotes healthy lifestyles. To serve our mission, ACCT will continue to:

Grow and facilitate connections among the community of bikers, walkers, carpoolers, and transit users in the Charlottesville area.
Help to increase the number of people who travel by alternative modes in our region.

Influence local transportation policy and development decisions through timely public action and leadership.

Lead our community in embracing an innovative and achievable vision for the future of transportation in Charlottesville.
