LETTER from the DIRECTOR:
Dear Friends,

Since our founding in 2001, The Alliance for Community Choice in Transportation has endeavored to bring together a network of citizens and groups dedicated to promoting balanced transportation options, sustainable land use, and transit-oriented development in the greater Charlottesville area.

We believe that citizens need to have a strong role in the creation of a transportation system that integrates a variety of alternative transportation options, makes our community a wonderful place to live, preserves the environment, and promotes healthy lifestyles. To serve our mission, ACCT will continue to:
  • Grow and facilitate connections among the community of bikers, walkers, carpoolers, and transit users in the Charlottesville area.
  • Help to increase the number of people who travel by alternative modes in our region.

  • Influence local transportation policy and development decisions through timely public action and leadership.

  • Lead our community in embracing an innovative and achievable vision for the future of transportation in Charlottesville.
