UnJAM 2035
Five years ago, the Charlottesville-Albemarle Metropolitan Planning Organization (CA-MPO) and the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) asked you to help create a long-range plan for the region's transportation needs. It is now time to update that plan to reflect your current needs and new concerns for the future. These changes will be incorporated into the UnJAM 2035 Long Range Plan. The TJPDC is asking for community residents from around the region to attend the UnJAM 2035 Regional Transportation Summit and participate in helping to plan for our future and to make these updates.
Date/Time/Location: Saturday, May 10, 8:30am-noon at Monticello High School (1400 Independence Way)
In addition to the Regional Summit the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission has launched UnJam.org. UnJAM.org is the communication hub for the long range plan. Here you can fill out our online survey, share your comments, review our newest and most innovative transportation and land use studies, and learn more about the upcoming UnJAM 2035 Regional Summit. The TJPDC invites you to explore UnJAM.org and take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to the vision for our region.

Parking Tools that Support Smart Growth and Transit Instead of Sprawl
Don't miss out! Register for the conference or check out the full agenda by clicking on the link below. Be sure to contact the Hilton Hotel directly to reserve your special VTA Conference room rate of $219.
Click here to respond. Date: May 19-21, at the VTA Annual Conference (RSVP by April 25) As any architect or developer can tell you, parking is destiny. More than any other single factor, parking dictates how much development can be built on a parcel, what tenants can be attracted, and whether a project will "pencil."
- How can transit agencies influence parking decisions outside their direct control? What parking tools can help our regions address congestion concerns, increase quality of life, improve local economies, and reduce CO2 emissions?
- Jeff Tumlin of Nelson/Nygaard is an expert in multimodal transportation planning with an emphasis in minimizing the impacts of growth. Come learn about one approach for Arlington County's Columbia Pike, and how its lessons can be applied throughout Virginia.
- Mr. Tumlin will be available for appointments on an individual consulting basis outside of the conference program. Please e-mail him directly at jtumlin@nelsonnygaard.com to schedule an appointment.
